‘Board of Peace’ Summit in Washington and Gaza Reconstruction Plan

The much-discussed “Board of Peace” has begun in Washington with a new blueprint for world peace. (Board of Peace) summit. Held under the chairmanship of U.S. President Donald Trump, the conference was attended by heads of state and high-ranking representatives from more than 20 countries. On the opening day of the conference, a massive $5 billion fund was announced for Gaza reconstruction and humanitarian aid.

The Board of Peace was launched in January 2026 on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland. President Trump presented it as a ‘swift’ and ‘effective’ alternative to the United Nations. The board was essentially formed based on the mandate to restore peace in Gaza, which was given through United Nations Security Council Resolution 2803 in November 2025. However, its scope is now not limited to Gaza alone, but it is evolving into a global conflict resolution agency.

In his opening remarks, Donald Trump said,

“This board will end decades of bloodshed and establish a beautiful and lasting peace. Today, we have received pledges of more than $5 billion in aid for the people of Gaza, which will be used to transform this devastated territory into a modern and prosperous region.”

A large portion of this funding will come from Arab nations and emerging economies in Asia. Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, and Turkey are playing a leading role in this initiative.

The main topic of discussion at the conference was the security of Gaza. The Board of Peace has finalized plans to form an ‘International Stabilization Force’ (ISF).

This force will be led by a U.S. general.

Objectives: To ensure the security of Gaza, disarm Hamas, and train a new Palestinian police force.

An interim ‘National Committee’ (NCAG) will be formed to govern Gaza, which will operate directly under this board.

While the Board of Peace is met with hope in the international community, it also faces intense criticism and legal questions. According to the organization’s draft Charter:

Donald Trump will serve as the lifetime chairman of this board, even after his presidency ends.

To become a permanent member, a new country must pay a specified fee (reportedly around $10 billion) and receive the direct approval of the chairman.

The chairman is granted the sole authority to veto any decision or revoke membership.

This initiative has divided the world into two camps.

Hungary’s Viktor Orbán, Argentina’s Javier Milei, and Israel’s Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar have welcomed the initiative. They believe the United Nations has failed and that Trump’s ‘business-oriented diplomacy’ will yield tangible results.

On the other hand, countries like Germany, France, and the United Kingdom have refused to attend this conference. According to European Union countries, this is a deliberate attempt to destroy the authority of the United Nations. They fear that this board will essentially function as a personal diplomatic club for Trump.

The information in this report was gathered from the following reliable sources and documents:

UN Security Council Resolution 2803 (Nov 2025): which provides the legal basis for Trump’s 20-point plan on Gaza.

White House Press Briefing (Feb 18, 2026): where Press Secretary Caroline Levitt confirms the $50 billion fund.

World Economic Forum Archive (Jan 2026): List of countries that signed the Board of Peace charter in Davos (including Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Indonesia, and Pakistan).

The Munich Security Report 2026: Where the Board of Peace is identified as a challenge to the global institutional order.

Whether the Board of Peace will ultimately be a messenger of world peace or a new tool for American influence expansion remains to be seen. But one thing is clear: the post-World War II international order we were accustomed to is now undergoing a major transformation. This conference in Washington could determine not just the fate of Gaza, but also the equations of global politics for the next decade.
