Recently, she shared her feelings on an NPR podcast. She said seeing her ex-husband’s name in the Epstein files brought back old and painful memories of her marriage.

Bill and Melinda separated in 2021, ending their 27-year marriage. In the interview, Melinda said the allegations regarding Epstein cause her immense pain. However, she expressed relief, saying, “I am happy to be away from all the muck.” She made it clear that those named in the documents must answer these questions themselves. Even her ex-husband, Bill Gates, must be held accountable.
Allegations and Bill Gates’ Statement
In documents released by the US Justice Department, Epstein claimed that Bill Gates once suffered from a sexually transmitted disease. But Bill Gates’ side has dismissed this claim as completely false and baseless. His spokesperson said, “These claims from a proven liar have no basis.” Notably, none of Epstein’s victims have made any direct allegations against Bill Gates.
Strains in Past Relationship
According to media reports, Melinda was annoyed by Bill Gates’ contact with Epstein even before their divorce. Moreover, in 2019, Bill Gates admitted to having a relationship with a Microsoft employee. Currently, some emails from 2013 have been found in the released documents, which Epstein sent to himself. There is no reply or signature from Bill Gates in them.

Those emails hinted at Bill Gates’ involvement with Russian women. Alongside this, there were allegations of him hiding the disease from Melinda. However, representatives for Bill Gates have consistently stated that they only discussed philanthropic work a few times.
